Track what you owe and what's owed to you — all in one trusted place.

Informal loans, IOUs, and shop tabs get tracked on paper notebooks, WhatsApp threads, or memory. Dube Ledger replaces all three with one shared record both sides can see.

The notebook problem

Paper and memory don’t scale — and they don’t agree

Paper notebooks

Pages get lost, torn, or illegible — and there’s only one copy, held by one side.

WhatsApp threads

The running total is buried in a scroll of messages. Nobody can point to a single number.

Dube Ledger

One shared book. Both sides see the same entries and the same balance — always.

How it works

Four steps, one shared record

I GAVEI GOT
  1. 1

    Create a Book

One book per relationship — a friend, a family member, or a shop customer.

  2. 2

    Add them by phone

If they’re not on Dube Ledger yet, they get an SMS invite link to join.

  3. 3

    Log I GAVE / I GOT

Every entry is an amount, a description, and a date — visible to both sides.

  4. 4

    Mark it Settled

Either side can close the book once the balance is settled outside the app.

Built for real tabs, not just IOUs

Itemized running tabs for shopkeepers

A personal IOU is one number. A shop tab is a list — bread, sugar, soap, one line at a time. Dube Ledger itemizes every credit sale so the running total is never a guess.

Private by default

Only you and the person you’re sharing a book with can see its entries. Nobody else has access.

Export & settle

A statement either side can trust

Export a shareable Statement of Account for any book — useful for your own records, or to settle a dispute with a number both sides already agree on.

Frequently asked questions

Each book tracks what was given and received between you and one other person. The net balance shows who currently owes whom.
Open a book and add a person by phone number. If they don't have an account yet, you'll get an invite link to share with them — once they sign up and accept it, the book appears on both sides.
New numbers get a one-time SMS code to verify. Returning numbers just sign in with their password — you only need a code again if you forget your password.
Only you and the person you're sharing a book with can see its entries. Nobody else has access.
